Sales, workshop, rental, stock and the French VAT anti-fraud law: we compared 10 POS systems used in bike and cycle shops in France and across Europe.
In short
In 2026, the 10 POS systems best suited to bike and cycle shops in France and Europe are Lokki Caisse, Hiboutik, Bikedesk, Wilmar, Tactill, SumUp, EBP Point de Vente, Odoo Point of Sale, Twice Commerce and Booqable. Lokki Caisse is the only one that brings sales, rental and workshop together in a single till journal, in French.
In a bike shop, every bike sold has a frame number, the workshop runs all year round and many shops rent out part of their fleet in summer. Our customers kept asking for a POS that handles all of this in one place. That is where Lokki Caisse comes from.
Here we compare it with the POS systems you most often find in cycle shops. Lokki is at the top of the list because it is our software. For the other nine, we only use what each vendor publishes; the links are at the bottom of the page.
Article written by Lokki, the vendor of one of the software products compared. Information and prices taken from the vendors' official websites on 22 October 2026, excluding VAT. Sources are listed at the bottom of the page.
How to choose the POS system for your bike shop
- French VAT anti-fraud law: a certificate (NF525 or equivalent) or a statement from the vendor. Ask for the document before you sign.
- Bikes tracked one by one: frame number, size, colour, history.
- Workshop: repair sheet, quote, parts taken out of stock, payment without re-entering anything.
- Rental: if you rent bikes out, rentals land in the same till journal.
- Stock: low-stock alerts, supplier orders, inventory by scanning.
- Real cost: subscription, card payment fees, card terminal, printer and barcode scanner.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best POS for a bike shop in France?
If you sell, repair and rent, Lokki Caisse: it is the only one in this ranking that handles all three in a single journal, in French. If you only do sales and workshop on a tight budget, Hiboutik is free to start with.
Is a compliant POS mandatory in a bike shop?
In France, yes, as soon as you take payments from consumers with POS software. It must comply with the VAT anti-fraud law, backed by a certificate or a statement from the vendor. Ask for this document before you sign.
What management software for a cycle shop?
Software that combines POS, stock and workshop: Lokki, Hiboutik, Bikedesk or Wilmar. If you also rent out bikes, Lokki is the only one of the four available in French that includes rental.
Do you need separate software for the workshop?
No, if the POS handles repairs, like Lokki, Hiboutik, Bikedesk or Wilmar. Otherwise, every repair has to be entered again at checkout.
I also rent out bikes. Is a standard POS enough?
It takes payments but cannot see your bookings. You then have to reconcile rentals paid online with your till journal by hand.
How much does a POS for a bike shop cost?
From €0 to around €150 excl. VAT per month depending on features, plus hardware (card terminal, printer, barcode scanner) and sometimes a percentage of each card payment.
